To put it simply, we’re just two river guides living the dream. 

The long story goes way back to childhood. Both Neils and Andy grew up in Washington in very outdoorsy families; camping, hiking, rafting, and yes lots of fishing. The two met in college at Central Washington University while pursuing degrees in Recreation Management. Neils at that time had already been a seasoned river guide with Wildwater River Tours. Andy had been working as a climbing instructor and guide for the university but recently got into whitewater kayaking. The spring of 2013 we worked together at now Wildwater River Guides and have been working together ever since.

We spent the next several years having a blast all summer as raft guides then working different jobs in the off season such as gardening, teaching drivers ed, moving service, and then we both landed into public education. Great schedule, love teaching and working with youth, but not enough river time. That’s when River Dog Outfitters came to light, we can use our experience, patience, guidance, and equipment to take people fishing and get us back on the water! After school kids fishing programs got the ball rolling, and now that word has spread and the calendar is filling up we have left public education to pursue full time river guiding. Living the dream!
